Performances by Mark Balahadia

Mark Balahadia is an unique performer of Middle Eastern dances, based in the New York City Area. He has trained, taught and performed in the USA, Europe and the Middle East for over 14 years. His varied experience, along with his deep knowledge of Arabic dance, in particular, has given him the ability to perform these styles in a way that is authentic in feeling and technique.

On Arabic social media, he is known in Arabic as “Mark the American” (مارك الامريكي), where he has gone viral for his interpretation of Arabic dances, especially Iraqi and Khaliji styles. On Youtube, he has over 12 million views on his channel and counting.

Bashar Makhay is the founder, board member and resident DJ for Tarab NYC, NYC’s Queer Middle Eastern, North African and fabulous community organization! Bashar has been spinning for over a decade, spinning a mix of dabke, chobi, redh, chaabi, bandari, and other MENA beats mixed with pop, dance and booty beats.
