6 Years of Queer Middle Eastern and North African Faboulousness – May 14
Lets Celebrate Six Years of Tarab NYC! On Monday, May 14th, join Tarab NYC for a special extended Happy Hour and Mixer at Henrietta Hudson. Join us as we celebrate six years of dance parties, mixers, picnics, community discussions, support groups, dance classes, film screenings, beach parties, protests, workshops, QPOC collaborations, and so much more.

Dabke For Your Life – Tarab NYC Dabke 101 – May 19
The time has come for you to Dabke for your life! Tarab NYC is partnering with the amazing Freedom Dabke Troupe to offer a Dabke 101 Class. Whether you have never danced Dabke or you would like to improve your skills, this class is for you! The Class will begin with the basics of Dabke then slowly build upon your dabke skills.

No experience necessary. The class is for all genders.

Save The Date – LGBTQ Iftar June 7th!
Join Tarab NYC and break your fast with an Iftar dinner during the holy month of Ramadan, hosted at The Center in partnership with other organizations serving members of the LGBTQ Muslim community. The evening is meant to create a safe space for all community members, while also celebrating unity within LGBTQ communities of faith.

On Thursday May 17th, Tarab NYC Board Members Hilal, Nick, and Wardeh will be at the LGBT Center Immigration Fair. Join us at Queens Pride on June 3rdBrooklyn Pride on June 9th, & NYC Pride on June 24th! We will also be collaborating with our fellow QPOC orgs to put on another fabulous Color Me Queer on the evening of June 24th.  Last but not least, we want to thank all that donated to send members of our board to the NQAPIA national conference!  With your help we raised $1090 and will be able to send up to four board members to the NQAPIA National Conference in San Francisco where we are excited to present on Orientalism, Digital Organizing, Pinkwashing, Islamophobia, and more. We will also be holding space for a Queer MENA caucus at the conference.
