March with Tarab NYC at Queens Pride – June 2nd
Join Tarab NYC for its fourth year participating in Queens Pride. Even louder and prouder, Tarab NYC and its friends will be marching in the 2019 Queens Pride March on Sunday June 2nd! Join queers from all over the Middle East and North Africa, celebrating pride and fighting injustice, lineup begins at 10am, allies are welcome. All Tarab NYC marchers must pay and register in advance and should plan to arrive at 10am.
Tarab NYC Performs at Queens Pride – June 2nd at 1:50PM
Tarab NYC is proud to perform yet again on the Queens Pride entertainment stage. We will be performing Dabke, a traditional Middle Eastern line dance at Queens Pride, and holding a mini Hishik Bishik: A Queer Middle Eastern and North African Drag Revue.

March with Tarab NYC at Brooklyn Pride – June 8th
Join Tarab NYC for its FIFTH year participating in Brooklyn Pride. Even louder and prouder, join Tarab NYC as we take part of the ONLY New York City night time parade on Saturday, June 8th. The parade starts around Lincoln Place and ends at 9th St. & 5th Avenue and steps off promptly at 7:30pm. Join queers from all over the Middle East and North Africa, celebrating pride and fighting injustice, lineup begins at 6pm, allies are welcome.
Community Support Group – June 12th & June 26th
Join us for a peer support group in which LGBTQ persons from the MENA region can process experiences in a safe space. Group discussion can foster support and develop ways of coping with struggles afflicting our community. This group will be facilitated by Wardeh Hattab, LCSW, and Nick Baitoo, LMSW, and will take place Wednesday, June 12 and 26th at 6:00pm at the LGBT Center in Manhattan.
Volunteer at the WorldPride Human Rights Conference and Support Tarab NYC
Tarab NYC has officially been selected as a WorldPride 2019 | Stonewall 50 Working Grant recipient. Essentially we provide NYC Pride 15 volunteers at the Human Rights Conference held at on Tuesday, June 25th at New York Law School and Tarab NYC will recieve $1000 to use towards our Pride Month Programming.
Save The Date – WorldPride Fundraiser for Helem – June 25th
On June 25th, the Llama Inn of Williamsburg in collaboration with Tarab NYC, will be hosting a fundraiser to support the efforts of Helem, an LGBTQ activist organization located in Beirut, Lebanon. The purpose of the evening is to raise awareness around LGBTQ issues in the Arab world, and to support and celebrate the groundbreaking work Helem is doing. Helem is the first openly LGBTQ organization in the MENA region (Middle East & North Africa), and thus has been a pioneer in LGBTQ activism, providing support and influence to the other movements in the region as well.
Tarab NYC Shows Up for Trans Rights at TDOA – June 28th
Join Tarab NYC at the 15th annual Trans Day of Action! The march and rally will be held on Friday, June 28th from 4:00-6:00pm at Washington Square Park. Join us in uplifting our New York City Communities of Color as we champion policy goals for advancing housing equity for Trans and Gender Non-Conforming in New York City. Join us as we reclaim the streets and lift up the legacy of Stonewall as a TGNC POC-led rebellion. Register to get updates on where the Tarab NYC contingent will be located.
March with Tarab NYC at the NYC Dyke March – June 29th
The New York City Dyke March is a protest march, not a parade. Thousands of Dykes take the streets each year in celebration of our beautiful and diverse Dyke lives, to highlight the presence of Dykes within our community, and in protest of the discrimination, harassment, and violence we face in schools, on the job, and in our communities. Any person who identifies as a dyke is welcome to march regardless of gender expression or identity, sex assigned at birth, sexual orientation, race, age, political affiliation, religious identity, ability, class, or immigration status.
