Sizdeh Bedar (13 Bedar) Picnic with Tarab NYC

***Due to poor weather, we have to cancel this event. We hope to have a cozy community picnic/outdoor hang later in spring/summer so stay tuned.***

Join us for Sizdeh Bedar and help us close out the Nowruz season the way it’s meant to be—outside, in community, and full of joy.

***NEW DATE*** Saturday, April 12, 1:00 PM – 5:00PM
Brooklyn Bridge Park – Pier 5, “The Picnic Peninsula Barbeque Area
Free – Registration Requested

Sizdeh Bedar (13 Bedar) is a beloved tradition marking the 13th day of Nowruz, when people gather outdoors to let go of the old and make space for the new. Come throw your sabzeh in the water to release any bad juju, and welcome the new year with us in the sunshine.

This will be a potluck-style picnic—so bring something to share if you can, and feel free to bring:

  • Snacks, drinks, or something for the grill
  • Outdoor games or sports gear
  • Musical instruments or anything that brings the vibes

We’ll be near the BBQs and picnic tables, with grassy and sandy areas to relax and a nearby soccer field to run around in. Friends will be spinning music, there’ll be dancing, and someone’s always grilling kabob. If you have trouble finding us day-of, email Parisa for help.

Please register so we can get an accurate headcount and let’s welcome spring together, Tarab NYC style.
