To support our goal of providing visibility and a voice for our community, we will be sending 4 board members to the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) conference this July! The conference, which takes place every 3 years, provides a platform for local LGBTQ groups to come together, share experience, learn, educate, and empower one another in the American LGBTQ Asian Pacific Islander community.
From this Monday (4/16) to Sunday (4/22) we are having a fundraising drive to raise money for conference registration fees and travel costs. Your donation will allow Tarab NYC board members to register and represent the MENA community and the first $500 will be matched by NQAPIA so donate today!
At the conference, we will facilitate workshops for our friends and allies on Orientalism, Digital Organizing, Pinkwashing, Islamophobia, and more. We will also be holding space for a Queer MENA caucus at the conference.
