Recently our website was used in a widespread credit card testing attack though our payment processor Stripe, which is currently investigating the attack. Tarab NYC donors were not impacted by this attack. Attackers use authorizations and payments to determine if stolen or generated card information they have is valid or not. More information on credit card testing attacks can be found on the Stripe website.
If your card was recently authorized or charged $1, that authorization or charge was likely flagged and canceled, but we suggest contacting your financial institution as soon as possible to report this activity and request a new card. Further we will be implementing a security audit of our site and server, and we will provide an update after the completion of that audit.
