Black Lives Matter

Recent events have brought to light many things we already know: the police system is inherently racist and anti-black and there is a history of systemic violence and racism towards vulnerable communities. We know that we must fight everyday against white supremacy and too many Black lives have been lost at the hands of the police. We celebrate the resilience of Black and Brown people and the power of people coming together to organize and fight injustice. To fight against anti-Black racism is to fight for our collective struggle. We mourn the loss of George Floyd, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner, Mohamed Bah, and way too many others that we demand justice for. We will continue to challenge the anti-Black rhetoric that exists within Middle Eastern and North African communities while standing in solidarity with our Black family, folks who are on the streets, and all people who experience the harms of police violence.
