Why: Music by Tarab NYC's resident DJ - Bashar Makhay, performances by Mark Balahadia Official, cash prize and giveaways for best costume. Arab, Middle Eastern and North African Music, Videos, Mingle, Network, Dance, Drinks and Fun!

Advance Tickets (must be purchased by October 29th): $10 for members (Just Login) $15 for non-members
$20 at the door.

Note: Costumes depicting ethnic/racial groups or cultures worn by individuals not of that culture are not allowed.


Performances by Sultana

We are excited to share that Sultana will be performing at Queer Haflaween - Ahh Ya Mama!  Sultana is our very own NYC based Middle Eastern Queen. She is known as the Queen of the Middle East Village and the Queen of Denial (Get it - the nile - ;) She was born and raised in Cairo and is Palestinian and Jordanian. She has performed for over 20 years throughout NYC, including the world famous Lips!

We cant wait to see Sultana take the stage!

Performances by Mark Balahadia

Mark Balahadia is an unique performer of Middle Eastern dances, based in the New York City Area. He has trained, taught and performed in the USA, Europe and the Middle East for over 14 years. His varied experience, along with his deep knowledge of Arabic dance, in particular, has given him the ability to perform these styles in a way that is authentic in feeling and technique. On Arabic social media, he is known in Arabic as “Mark the American” (مارك الامريكي), where he has gone viral for his interpretation of Arabic dances, especially Iraqi and Khaliji styles. Bashar Makhay is the founder, board member and resident DJ for Tarab NYC, NYC's Queer Middle Eastern, North African and fabulous community organization! Bashar has been spinning for over a decade, spinning a mix of dabke, chobi, redh, chaabi, bandari, and other MENA beats mixed with pop, dance and booty beats.
